Brilliant

This B&B was lovely and peaceful as well as being very clean. Very friendly owners and would definitely stay here again. Beautiful views all around and just a short drive from Carlisle. And breakfast was delicious.

Excellent stay

Just stayed one night at Bessiestown but will most certainly be returning. We had a fantastic two bed apartment type accommodation. Couldn't have been nicer. In lovely peaceful surroundings. Great parking and friendly hosts and animals! Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend this first class B&B.

Faultlessly fabulous!

Had our first overnight here last night. This is a beautiful place in an idyllic and tranquil rural setting. So peaceful and calm. Lovely welcome from the owners. Top class breakfast. The accommodation is excellent. We had an upgrade to a “cottage” with two two lovely, spotlessly clean bedrooms and bathroom at ground level and a spacious and well-furnished lounge are upstairs. Couldn’t find ant fault with this superb establishment and will certainly return...hopefully soon! Have no hesitation in recommending Bessiestown.

A hidden gem

My husband and I booked a night here enroute to Scotland, we had a wonderful greeting, very friendly people. As it was quiet we were upgraded to the cottage with two lovely bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs plus a dining kitchen/lounge upstairs, one bedroom had patio doors that you could open wide to enjoy the view. We sat and watched the horses in the field, mesmerising. The rooms were all to a very good standard, very clean and tidy with all mod cons. The breakfast was delicious and they catered for my dietary needs, ie gluten free and vegetarian, all foods were of excellent quality and freshly cooked. We went for a walk to the local pub and sat outside enjoying the sunshine, when we got back we prepared our evening meal of crackers wine cheese and grapes with the windows open, later we watched tv before turning in. I can definitely recommend, we went on the motorbike and we're made most welcome. Hope to visit again this year.

We have been coming to Bessiestown Farm Country Guesthouse for more than twenty years and it is always a pleasure to stay here! Comfortable, clean, and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble - Jackie, Margaret, Anne and Caroline are on hand to make your stay as easy and trouble free as possible. Breakfasts and dinners are excellent and if you have the opportunity to indulge in one of their famous afternoon teas DO NOT MISS IT!

Superb B&B with best breakfast.

We only stayed one night but the welcome was very friendly. Large en-suite rooms with everything you need plus extras imcluding a built-in fridge with real milk for the morning (so much nicer than horrid little milk pots). There was even a bottle of water and glasses in the fridge! Lots of communal space for guest use too so you’re not clear brined to the bedroom. Did I mention the lovely grounds? Great Wi-fi signal, I was able to watch Bt Sport easily.

Breakfast was superb, loads to choose from in terms of fruit, cereal, etc plus a cooked breakfast to order. We will definitely stay here again but for longer next time. Best B&B I’ve ever stayed in. Really good value too!

Our host was flexible and welcoming as we arrived late to this lovely spot. Dogs, horses, and delicious hospitality in the middle of rolling hills. Would have loved to spend more time here and recommend this place highly.

We stayed at Bessiestown about six years ago on a trip to Scotland and it was fabulous. We decided to try it again on our next trip up North and it was just as wonderful. The rooms are luxurious and the hosts are very friendly. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast. The surrounding area is so pretty and quiet so we had the most restful sleep. I recommend this B&B to everyone and we will definitely come again next trip to the North.
